Developing Future Generations of Malaysia IT Professionals in a Global
Environment
Human capital development centre, MIGHT-METEOR Advanced Manufacturing
Sdn Bhd (MIGHT-METEOR) and emerging platform CodeAr.my signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) on 20 September 2012 in Cyberjaya to bring the concept of
gamification to Information Technology (IT) students at participating Malaysian
universities and colleges.
CodeAr.my undertook an MOU arrangement with MIGHT-METEOR to facilitate
better opportunity for IT students to gain real-world work experience. This is
done through CodeAr.my platform, by bringing the concept of gamification into their
learning experience.
Gamification is an emerging concept surrounding the use of game design
elements, thinking and mechanics in non-gaming environments.

The MOU was attended by Zafrul Azhar, Commander in Chief of CodeAr.my, Datuk
Mohd Badlisham, Chief Executive Officer of Multimedia Development Corporation
Sdn Bhd, Lt Col (R) Kamarulzaman Zainal, Senior Vice President of Intelligence
and Research of MIGHT-METEOR and Professor Jasmin Baba, Executive Director of MIGHT-METEOR,
witnessed by media friends, CodeAr.my associates, MIGHT-METEOR associates, and
guests.
The MOU signing enabled CodeAr.my to enhance employment opportunities by
having greater access to students and graduates in the field. This also pushes
Malaysia in the direction of being a regional IT talent hub.

CodeAr.my is the brainchild of MotionWorks Sdn Bhd, an alternative to
coordinate tech-related sectors and working with clients by offering real and
practical solutions to all parties involved. CodeAr.my advocates globalised fractional employment,
encouraging work on fractional basis by linking committed, motivated and
uniquely-skilled people together for the successful completion of an array of
project types.
MIGHT-METEOR is a recognised human capital development centre
established within the organisation of MIGHT, and under the purview of the
Office of Sciene Advisor, Prime Ministers Department; and includes METEOR, a
consortium of 11 public universities in Malaysia. It is a government-linked
initiative to support the technology industry in Malaysia through its association
with industry.
