South East Asian Participants Welcomed into the International Fold
The
International Steinway Festival is a renowned event which has been held in
Germany every two years since 1987, discovering young talented pianists from Belgium,
China, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain and Germany. Deserving
finalists from these countries were given the opportunity to perform in
Hamburg, where they got to interact with other like-minded pianists and explore
their own creative musicality.
For
the first time since its inception, Malaysian youth pianists were invited to
participate in one of the industry’s most prestigious events. To participate,
entrants had to submit a video clip of themselves performing three pieces;
which was then judged by three prominent musicians in Malaysia. The entries
were coordinated via Bentley School of Music, with sponsorship by BMW Malaysia.
The
search took several months before its finale; participants were ensured
adequate time to enter, before judges begin their selection for semi-finalists.
Semi-finalists then keyed it out for a spot in the finale.
Orchan
had the pleasure to launch the competition via press conference and media
exclusives, which consequently encouraged participants to take part. Media
Alerts and teasers were also sent out so as to remind potential participants
how to participate in the competition. However, that’s not all. Orchan assisted
in profiling the judges along the way, before profiling the exceptionally talented
finalists. For the finale, Orchan invited media to cover the achievements by
the talented youth pianists and enjoy the stunning concert performed before
judges, family, friends, and paying guests.
