PR Challenges In The Digital Age Public Relations (PR) has been continuously evolving over decades. The PR world started to change drastically after the rise of digital technology. This movement has affected the PR industry in various ways and created new challenges for PR specialists.   The internet has enabled masses to create content such as blogs and articles that enhance the number of channels. U-Turn Flights A journey to nowhere. What an opportunity for those that miss the feeling and experience of air travel during these travel limiting times.   The airlines were clever to take notice of what people are yearning for, time away from home, and supplied that demand, by selling literal roundtrips from their departing airport and to return to that same airport. What do you think? Would you go on these flights to nowhere? Read the article below about ‘Flights to Nowhere’. __________ Travellers snap up Asian airlines' scen...

The Power of Hashtags

Image
The Power of Hashtags Who would have imagined a # (pound) sign would evolve into a hashtag and reshape the internet? This numeric sign is called hashtag since 2007 and it became a cultural phenomenon that turned into an indelible symbol in the social media world. Hashtags function to aggregate similar content that eases users to search their interest and connect with others who have similar interests on social media. Some hashtags can become a trend and go viral. Hence, hashtags are commonly used as a digital marketing tool in the business industry because it gives significant advantages for them to grow rapidly and widely in a short time.   Coca-Cola’s globally successful campaign, #ShareACoke started in 2011 and is still running until today during special seasons. People are able to process images and videos much faster than text because it does not require intelligence or knowledge.   Why are visuals important? Well, it’s the first thing anyone notices. Let’s say that there are two events coming up and you receive the flyers for each. One flyer only had the necessary informational text (time, date, location) and only one photo of the location. However, the other flyer had beautiful high-quality images of what you can expect from the event and has the all the informational text placed strategically in nice-looking fonts. It’s obvious which event you would rather attend. ‘UMU’ pudding shop in Jeju Island, South Korea, has a growing number of followers which has surpassed more than 25k on Instagram and is very popular amongst the locals with many mainland citizens going to the Island just for a cup of ...
