Malaysia's "Pocket Dynamite" Redefined Her Musical Identity
Peeling back the layers of an already accomplished
musical career, Malaysian icon Prema Yin is a glowing star in the Malaysian
music scene, best known for her soulful music and light tunes. Following the
success of her first album Eyo Eyo, Prema celebrated the launch of her latest
album, paving the way for her brand new musical direction during an aptly-titled
debut, Prema Yin: Redefined.
With the company of media, close friends
and family, Prema’s reintroduction underlined the singer-songwriter’s
transformation from rockstar to cultural troubadour. Local with a global
presence, Prema always believed that her mixed heritage is a big part of what
makes her unique as a musician, composer and songstress. To finally be able to
incorporate her identity into her artistic persona by tapping into her cultural
heritage/s, and expose fans both far and near to her soulful side, is indeed a
dream come true.
Orchan proudly partnered with Prema to
help her launch the album, and work together on other projects along the way,
such as RAWR @ 1 Mont Kiara where she did a public debut of her single “Ring My
