As we hum and sing along to Christmas carols like “We wish you a Merry
Christmas!” and “Santa Claus is coming to town!”, the malls in town are all set
for a spectacular festive celebration during the season of giving. In Malaysia,
the tropical rainforest climate only allows us to experience the joyous
Christmas vibes as we walk through a sea of Christmas deco in malls.
Hartamas Shopping Centre, a popular suburban mall in KL kick-started the
festive season in 2012, by especially accommodating its activities to entice
participation from kids. What’s a Christmas without a Christmas tree, right?
Themed, “Christmas of the Future”, where the kids of Krista Education came
together in decorating twenty, seven foot tall trees, each representing the
hopes and dreams of the future, where the trees were shared with the orphanages
and old folks homes around KL in spreading the Christmas spirit with the needy.
Hartamas Shopping
Centre’s Charity Bazaar, “Festive Fiesta”, Santa walkabout, Christmas carolling,
and Santa’s Elves ‘Arts and Craft’ workshop were the interesting activities
which were held to create excitement for the patrons. One of the activities
during the Christmas festivities which have caught the attention to the patrons
was the horse and carriage ride. Kids and adults were able to ride on the old-school
carriage around the mall which had them surprised as it is certainly a
different experience from those they have seen before in Malaysia.

The dedicated A&P team at Hartamas Shopping Centre provided patrons
with privileges other than the clichés performances and events. Vouchers were
up for grabs during the Holiday Bonanza Giveaway. In tandem with this season,
Christmas revelers who wished to capture Christmas spirits at home were
delighted to find trimmings, baubles and all designs of ornaments at the
Christmas Trim Shoppe.
Publicity for
Hartamas Shopping Centre’s Christmas Festivities was one of the initiatives
that fell under Orchan’s purview in supporting the mall’s ongoing A&P
initiatives that were of media interest.
