The Day Bloggers Roamed the Mall
A great Blast from the Past | Eight (8) years ago today, back when shopping malls were really abuzz with activity, Orchan wanted to bring a breath of fresh air to a typical mall walkthrough. The team devised an
improvised opportunity for bloggers to experience Klang Parade like never
before; from shopping options to entertainment facilities and more. Bloggers
got to experience it through the “KPM Blogger Challenge”.
Bloggers
gathered just after doors opened, and the Orchan team took them on a “typical
walkthrough”, introducing several tenants on the way to Next Hip Hop Arena.
Unknown
to them, we had a few tricks up our sleeve, to make the day not only
interesting, but memorable too. At their first stop, Hip Hop Arena, they were
to take part in the Mix and Match
challenge – a fashionista challenge to get them dressing up as popular culture
idols. With each blogger given an image to replicate themselves, they have to
use clothing available from select tenants within the Arena to dress themselves
as the idol. The winning blogger was then rewarded with the clothes they
competed with, as well as a few other gifts, courtesy of Simon, the owner at
Hip Hop Arena.
As bloggers moved through the tour, all lead by Orchan’s
very enthusiastic guide Han Sen, they were introduced to different tenants and
stores in Klang Parade, as well as the convenience of its facilities. Upon
reaching the next task destination, Don Kaiten, they were challenged to a food
war. Don Kaiten prepared platter upon platter of sushi and sushi rolls,
accompanied by some spicy wasabi to increase consumption difficulty. The three
fastest bloggers to eat everything on their platter, and drink the bottle of
water supplied (they needed that for the wasabi) won Don Kaiten food vouchers.
To reward everyone for their hard work so far, bloggers
were pampered to a session of face mask at Beauty Land; before proceeding to
Econsave for the Supermakret Challenge. Mind you; that too was a bit of a
challenge, especially as they guys had to learn some skills in applying paper
face masks. A pretty sight indeed!
The EconSave challenge was the most challenging of the
day. The goal in this challenge is to pick out from the shelves a predetermined
list of grocery items, and then add additional items to reach the closest
checkout value of RM 200. Three winning bloggers won all the items in their
trolley. But that’s not all. To reward them for their time and effort, each blogger
received a goodie bag consisting of vouchers to shop in Next Hip Hop Arena,
select items from Beauty Land, cash vouchers for Don Kaiten as well as
Econsave.
We were surely glad to know bloggers went home having
enjoyed an evening of fun and laughter. Check out what a few of them had to say!
