Has it Been Four (4) Years Already?

Woa, it’s been four (4) years already since the incredible Peter Cetera announced “An Evening with Peter Cetera” – live right here in Kuala Lumpur. Cetera’s team partnered with Orchan to drive some media hype for the “you’re the inspiration” singer – including concert publicity, some exclusives with the crooner, and of course, media (and our) enjoyment of the concert.

Timed to be just before his birthday in September (2017), this was to be Peter’s last concert in Malaysia, as he quietly retired in 2019 (well, that’s what the Wiki update tells us), so we’re glad to have been involved in his last concert in Malaysia. Two previous concerts in 2009 were cancelled, so it was certainly a rarity for him to perform here.

Direct from the press advisory issued:

“… is proud to announce that Peter Cetera, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter, and voice behind the group, Chicago, will perform at the Mega Star Arena, Kuala Lumpur …

The Kuala Lumpur concert will be part of Cetera’s Southeast Asia tour, which also features Manila and Singapore.

From 1968 to 1986, Cetera was the singer, songwriter, and bassist for the legendary rock group Chicago. In his time with the group, they recorded 18 of the most memorable albums of a generation, including hits such as "If You Leave Me Now", "Hard to Say I’m Sorry", "Baby What a Big Surprise", "You’re the Inspiration", "Stay the Night", "Love Me Tomorrow", "Happy Man", "Feeling Stronger Every Day" and "Along Comes a Woman".

Embarking a successful solo career since 1986, Cetera has reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart twice and recorded 10-time honoured CDs, which include worldwide hits such as the Academy Award nominated song "Glory of Love" from the hit movie "The Karate Kid II"; "The Next Time I Fall" with Amy Grant; "Feels Like Heaven" with Chaka Khan; "After All" with Cher, from the motion picture "Chances Are"; "No Explanation" from the mega hit film, "Pretty Woman"; and the unforgettable, "Restless Heart".

Cetera’s performance at the Mega Star Arena will be an intimate one accompanied by his classic 7-Piece Electric Band. This exciting performance format adds to the music that continues to touch the hearts and lives of so many.”

Indeed it was an intimate conference experience for those who attended, with plenty of recognizable favourites, and a couple of surprises too.
