The Determined Desperates

Image
The Determined Desperates Businesses are trying to pivot, regain lost revenue, and make use of deserted facilities in these trying times; and who can blame them for trying? Businesses are focusing more on their key features and selling points, trying to appeal to the home-bound audience, those yearning for a change in scenery.  ‘Unessential’ business GSC Cinemas are elevating an experience that most people are doing at home during quarantine; that is “playing games”. They’ve allowed people to rent out their screens for game play for a hefty price for just a few hours. But will people actually be interested if they can play their games at home for free? There is an allure to the offer! Singapore Airlines dropped the idea of “Flights to Nowhere” and are using their parked planes as a dining experience, the cost of which you may pay around 500 USD for, the same cost of buying 230 noodle soup bowls from JoJo Kitchen in SS15. Surprisingly, the first two seating dates were fully booked a...

Brand Blogging Dilemma

Image
Brand Blogging Dilemma  How regularly should my business post online? Posting an excess of entries is simply going to reduce a brands engagement rate and readers will be put off from taking ganders at your posts so habitually. Be that as it may, there'll be less excitement as individuals now know when to anticipate your posts. What about posting once in a blue moon or never posting at all? You will always be unable to make up for lost time, in serious hover as you lose the connection and be distinguished as common for failing to leave a profound or essential impact on your audiences. Hence, you'll gradually float away from socials media users and they won’t be able to recall your presence in the long haul. In any case, there will never be a solid answer or a number to these contentious issues. Brands have to explore and do trial and error to see what their audience is comfortable with, and follow the tone of audience interaction and engagement as they progress. Peruse "How...

BOO! Blast from the Past | Halloween @ Citta and 1MK Hold your pumpkins people, the ghouls and ghosties are back. It's Halloween time again, and the shops and malls are out to frighten the ringgit out of you.  Every October, a mainstream American celebration, Halloween becomes the most costumed and spooktacular event for people around the globe. Citta Mall and 1 Mont Kiara celebrated this festival by spreading the excitement of Halloween with a range of kid-friendly events and activities. The malls were going spooky for Halloween for the kids aged four (4) to twelve (12) years old for a scary good time experience. What’s a Halloween without “Trick or Treat”? Children were all hyped up by going around the mall with their exclusive pumpkin buckets for the trick or treating tradition. This made the best part for the kids during the Halloween celebration. Another highlight during the celebration was the creative concept of the fashion show for kids in the mall. It is a fun-filled even...

Moment of Crisis

Image
Moment of Crisis   With keyboard warriors and worriers abound, a crisis facilitates a heightened sense of awareness, and criticism. Every move, every statement, every action and reaction is being watched and judged - more than ever before. Prepare your team to respond well to a crisis, where the bigger picture and the tiny details are equally as important.

Preventing a Crisis

Preventing a Crisis Take the necessary steps to stop or prevent the crisis from happening while you can. Cleaning up the mess afterwards is much more of a hassle than preparing beforehand.

Sailing Safely Through Rough Waters

Image
Sailing Safely Through Rough Waters At some point in your life, you’ve surely come across a moment when you wish you hadn’t said something or wish someone else hadn’t. Public Relations professionals are met daily with conversational difficulties and have to learn to somehow save themselves from those situations.   Those difficult conversations may range from having to call for confirmation from an unwilling publication company, dealing with stubborn clients, or answering awkward questions at a press conference. Not everyone is good at it at first or wants to deal with tough conversation situations, but with some practise and composure, responding to those situations will come more naturally.   Different ways you can manage difficult conversations is to have neutral thinking, managing your emotions, be clear about the issue, have a conversation objective, being comfortable with silence, mind the relationship, develop conflict resolution skills, and choosing the location. For ne...

Blast From the Past: KYOCHON (with Super Junior)

Image
And You Thought You Knew Chicken? So we say mixing with pop stars is not our thing, but every once-in-a-while a project comes around that one can absolutely not resist. Whether it be finger-licking good (oops, wrong chicken there hahaha), or it just "pops" out at you, that little voice inside your head says "run with it" (no Forrest required; though we do have a Farrell). Super Junior talking to the crowd One such opportunity in 2014 was the launch of KyoChon in Malaysia. Not only some tasty chicken (fortunately they paid in cash though), and the chance to launch a franchise, but the opportunity to work with one of Korea's leading K-Pop Groups, SUPER JUNIOR. Truth be told, I'd never heard of them, but the rest of the Orchan team, who are far more musically inspired, certainly had. The news of this broke in the office to ecstatic screams of excitement (not mentioning names Kristy and Christina), which certainly reaffirmed our decision to say yes. Super Ju...
