Events: RAWR @ 1MK (Music & Comedy)

A RAWR-ing Good Time aTop the New 1 Mont Kiara RAWR at 1 Mont Kiara The hills are alive with the sound of music… Well, almost! Celebrating its recent make-over was just one of the reasons to make RAWR at 1 Mont Kiara’s rooftop abuzz with some of Malaysia’s top talent, as they belted out original hits, globally-recognised covers, and even had the 800-plus person crowd doubling over in fits of laughter – all to celebrate the new 1 Mont Kiara. As the sunlight dwindled over 1 Mont Kiara’s city skyline, friends and families picked a comfy spot to chillax as the smell of barbecued meat fills the air, teasing the olfactory and growling tummies as they sizzle on the grill, while songbirds serenaded from the stage and comedians send audiences howling in laughter. RAWR is 1 Mont Kiara’s answer to music and comedy, engineered for all those who crave the extraordinary in life, showcasing “glocal” talent and acquainting the public with the music and comedy scene in Malaysia. Thought Leadership: Should We Really Kill Off the Press Release?

Image
A couple of years back, Orchan's Managing Director was quoted in a couple of publications discussing current trends and issues in our industry. Seeing an opportunity for further debate, Marketing Magazine approached Craig to write an article based around a particular quote that he made. Hence, "Should we really kill off the press release"? And, doesn't he look handsome? OK, don't comment!   Marketing Magazine - March 2012   Should We Really Kill off the Press Release? PR can be considered both a push and a pull industry. On one hand we have the agencies; creators of campaigns, spin, information, and even perspective, who help propel the information to the relevant, and sometimes not-so-relevant, media titles. But on the other hand, there is also a big pull-factor – that being, the various media who seek for content. I get emails over the course of a week asking for any news relating to a range of client categories. Here’s where the PR...

Behind the Scenes: Training Clients in the Art of Public Relations

Image
When it comes to Public Relations, effective communication is key. While it may seem easy to communicate via writing, it requires a lot more than the talent to write. There is a saying that goes “it takes two to tango”. In this context, it takes the skills to write and detailed information for the agency to craft an in depth document for media houses to use. So where do these details come from? Well, the Clients. We can draft “impressive” Press Releases all we want, but without the cooperation of our Clients in terms of being provided details in a timely manner, it’s merely words (text) on paper (PDF file) to media houses. To assist our writing, we often need our Clients to provide us with accurate information in a timely manner – which doesn't always happen; not on time at least. That is why in Orchan Consulting, we offer training opportunities for our Clients. The training does not merely demonstrate why we chase Clients for detailed information, but it helps Clients underst...
