Blast From the Past | The Traveling Trainers

Overseas traveling. It’s a luxury these days, almost impossible.

Traveling regionally for clients and training is not new to Orchan’s Directors Craig and Farrell. In fact, it’s a nice perk of the job, as they both find ways to work and play tourist at each destination. Three years back, they were in Singapore for training sessions that spanned two days on “Crisis Communications” for Lighthouse Media, a business publishing growth company. The While Craig did most of the talking, Farrell moderated the session and kept the conversations going by engaging and asking the audience questions – the typical ‘Devil’s Advocate’ role which he performs well.

A unique fact on the two days of training; it was an all-female group from some of Singapore's leading Government organisations and most unique businesses.

“I always enjoy traveling to conduct training. Pre-Covid, we would travel to Indonesia and Singapore for training opportunities. It's a good break from the office, plus interacting with professionals from other societies and economies is also a learning opportunity for us, as we get to share ideas that are born out of different contexts and environments”, Craig said as he shared his thoughts on traveling overseas to conduct training.

Craig also mentioned that there is no comparison to face-to-face training and online training. With face-to-face training, you get the chance to really work with participants; reading body language, having that hands-on and small group support and development experience, not to mention the energising atmosphere of the room beats online training any day. The advantage of online training is the convenience and atmosphere of the experience.

If your listing doesn’t provide enough photos or if the photos are low-quality, travelers won’t feel comfortable booking it.
